Trip Planner Tips - Walking Directions

You can read detailed walking directions when your Trip Planner results have a distance that is in color and underlined. Click on the underlined information to see the walking directions. If the results tell you to walk, but don’t specify a distance and are not in color or underlined, then the distance is very short and detailed directions are not provided.

For locations in downtown Seattle, detailed walking directions include information about grade. If any portion of the walk is on a street grade of more than 6%, you will see the phrase "on a significant grade" for that section of the walk. Grade can be either uphill or downhill, depending on the direction you walk. Grade information is available for downtown Seattle streets only. Other information about obstacles to accessibility along the walking path is not available in the Trip Planner.
